Notes

  1. Page header. Explains purpose and privacy promise in two sentences. Link to 09-trust-safety.html for badge definitions.
  2. Progress banner. Counts approved checks against required ones. Required to publish: Identity and Insurance. Qualifications and DBS are optional unless the teacher selected services needing DBS. Banner turns green with "You are verified" when complete.
  3. Identity. Upload ID plus selfie (webcam on desktop, camera on mobile). Accepted: PDF, JPG, PNG up to 10 MB. Status chip values: Not started, In review, Approved, Needs attention, Expired. Stored date approved is shown publicly as "Oct 2026".
  4. Insurance. Insurer, policy number and expiry date are required before upload can be submitted. Expiry must be in the future, otherwise "Your certificate has expired. Upload a current one." Automatic expiry job removes the badge on the expiry date and emails the teacher.
  5. Qualifications. Repeatable block, name and body required with each file. Reviewed manually in 61-admin-teacher-approvals.html. Rejected items can be resubmitted without losing others.
  6. DBS evidence. Shown only when relevant. Certificate number and issue date captured. If registered with the Update Service, we ask for consent for staff to check status. Badge text is "DBS Evidence Reviewed", never "DBS checked".
  7. Needs attention. Reviewer note shown verbatim, with an Upload new document action. Email and in-app notification sent on every status change.
  8. Badge preview. Live preview of public badges as they would appear on 06-teacher-profile.html, with date checked. Pending items show greyed. Hidden badges are never listed publicly.
  9. Privacy note. Fixed copy approved by legal. Includes retention period and who can see documents. Files are virus-scanned and stored in a private bucket with signed, short-lived URLs.

Validation. File types PDF, JPG, PNG. Max 10 MB: "That file is too large. Maximum 10 MB." Wrong type: "Upload a PDF, JPG or PNG." Analytics: verification_upload with document type.

Mobile

Sidebar becomes a menu. Cards are full width and the badge preview moves above the cards. Upload areas become "Take photo" and "Choose file" buttons. The camera opens directly for the identity selfie.

States

Empty: all cards Not started with a "Start with identity" prompt. Uploading: progress bar with Cancel. Upload error: "Upload failed, please try again" with retry. In review: upload locked, withdraw option. Expired: red chip and banner on the dashboard (44-teacher-dashboard.html). Offline or scan failure: file rejected with a clear reason.
