Trust and safety 1

What Popdance checks, what stays the teacher's responsibility, and how we protect your payment.

Badges and what they mean 2

Identity Checked

We check a government photo ID matches the teacher and their face. We show the date, not the document.

Qualifications Reviewed

We review certificates teachers upload for the styles they teach. We do not endorse teaching ability.

Insurance Verified

We check a current public liability policy with a valid date. Teachers must keep it up to date.

DBS Evidence Reviewed

Where the role requires it, we review the teacher's DBS evidence and date. We do not run the check ourselves.

Verified Booking Reviews

Reviews can only be left by customers who completed a paid booking on Popdance.

Popdance Member

The teacher has an active membership and has accepted our code of conduct.

Safeguarding 5

For parents and schools

Ask the teacher for their safeguarding policy. Check the DBS badge where it applies. Never leave children alone with a visiting adult.

For teachers

Teachers working with children must hold an enhanced DBS or equivalent, know their safeguarding duties and report concerns to Popdance.

Report a concern 6

If you are worried about a teacher, a message or a review, tell us. Urgent concerns: call 999 or your local safeguarding team first.
