How Popdance works 1

Booking a dance teacher should feel simple and safe. Here is every step, from first search to your review.

Find a teacher

Six steps from search to review 2

1

Find

Search by postcode and occasion. Filter by style, age group, price and availability. Read verified reviews.

2

Request

Pick a package and send your date, place, group size and notes. Or ask several teachers at once.

3

Get an offer

The teacher replies within 48 hours with an offer. Accept as listed, or ask a question.

4

Pay securely

Pay on Popdance by card. We hold your money. The teacher can see it is secured.

5

Enjoy

The teacher delivers your session. Chat in your booking thread if plans change.

6

Release and review

After 48 hours with no issue the money is released to the teacher. You leave a verified review.

Your money is held until the session is done 3

When you pay, Popdance holds the funds with our payments partner. The teacher does not receive them until your event has taken place and the 48 hour issue window has passed.

You pay the agreed price plus a service fee shown at checkout
Funds are held, not paid out
Teacher marks the session complete, or it auto-completes 48 hours after the event
You have 48 hours to raise an issue
If all is well funds are released to the teacher
Disputes are mediated by Popdance staff

Payment protection applies only to bookings paid on Popdance. Never pay a teacher directly.

Two ways to book 5

Instant book

Fixed package, free date

Choose a package and a date the teacher has marked as available. Pay straight away and your booking is confirmed once the teacher accepts within 24 hours.

Request

Tailored to you

Send the details. The teacher replies with an offer, which may include extra time, add-ons or a custom price. Offers expire after 48 hours.

What if something changes? 6

Cancelling

The policy is shown before you pay. Refunds follow the teacher's chosen policy: flexible, moderate or strict.

Teacher cancels or does not respond

Requests expire after 48 hours and you are never charged. If a teacher cancels a paid booking you receive a full refund.

Something goes wrong

Raise an issue within 48 hours of the event. Our team reviews messages and decides on a full or partial refund.

Notes

  1. Intro. H1 and one line of reassurance. CTA to 02-search-results.html.
  2. Customer journey. Six steps from search to review, matching the booking flow states. Copy owned by product; keep in sync with the spec.
  3. Escrow explanation. Plain English description of held funds. Mention the payments partner by name only after legal review. Legal wording about the platform not being the service provider sits in the terms, linked from the footer.
  4. Escrow diagram. Static SVG: customer pays, Popdance holds, teacher paid after window. Must have alt text and a text equivalent.
  5. Instant book vs request. Explains both routes. Instant book requires a fixed package and teacher availability.
  6. Edge cases. Cancellation, expiry, dispute summaries. Links to 16-legal-template.html for full policies.
  7. FAQs. FAQPage structured data. Pull from 13-help-centre-faq.html to avoid duplicate answers.
  8. Closing search. Repeats the search form. Analytics: how_it_works_search_submitted. Title 'How Popdance works | Book dance teachers safely'.
