Notes
Header and actions. Shows save status ("Saved", "Saving...", "Unsaved changes") and publish status. Save changes publishes edits immediately for approved profiles. Profile text changes over 20% trigger a moderation flag but remain live.
Section tabs. Anchor navigation on one long form so mobile users scroll rather than switch. Warn on leaving with unsaved changes: "You have unsaved changes. Leave without saving?"
Basics. Display name and headline are required. Slug must be unique, 3 to 60 characters, lowercase, reserved words blocked. Bio min 150 characters so profiles are never thin. Contact details (phone, email, links in the bio) are blocked by pattern with the message "Please keep contact details out of your bio. Customers can message you through Popdance."
Photos and video. Profile photo required to go live. Image uploads are cropped client-side, compressed, and stored in multiple sizes. Video accepts YouTube or Vimeo links and MP4 upload, transcoded server-side. Gallery up to 12, drag to reorder, alt text prompted for accessibility. Moderation queue for new media.
Styles and ages. Multi-select chips from a controlled list, drives search filters on 02-search-results.html. SEND and accessibility ticks map to the accessibility filter.
Areas. Postcode geocoded for radius search. Extra areas power location landing pages (05-location-landing.html). Changing base postcode re-indexes search.
Qualifications and links. List editable here; documents live in 43-verification-upload.html. Social links validated by domain. Links open in a new tab with rel nofollow.
SEO fields. Optional overrides with sensible auto-generated defaults. Character counters. Indexing tick defaults to on and is forced off while the profile is not approved. Structured data (LocalBusiness and Person with review aggregate) generated from these fields.
Live preview. Sticky panel showing a miniature of 06-teacher-profile.html with desktop and mobile toggle. Badges come from verification status, not editable here.
Analytics.profile_saved with fields changed; profile_strength_changed. Each section can be completed independently.
Mobile
Single column. The preview moves into a "Preview" button that opens a full-screen sheet. Section tabs become a horizontal scroll chip row that sticks under the header. Save button is a sticky bottom bar.
States
New profile: empty fields with example placeholder text and a progress meter. Validation errors: red outline plus message under the field, form scrolls to the first error ("Add a headline to continue"). Upload failure: thumbnail shows retry. Pending approval: banner "Your changes will go live once your application is approved". Save failure: banner with retry and local draft kept. Concurrent edit in two tabs: last save wins with a warning.
