Delete account 7

Deleting your account removes your profile, saved teachers and messages. Reviews you have written stay public without your name. You cannot delete while a booking is upcoming or an issue is open.

Notes

Page and tabs. Five tabs in the URL hash (#profile, #payments, #notifications, #security, #privacy). Unsaved changes prompt "You have unsaved changes. Leave anyway?". noindex.

Profile. Avatar, names, verified email, mobile, home postcode, optional organisation. Email change sends a confirmation to the new address and keeps the old one until confirmed. Validation: names 1 to 50 characters, UK mobile format, UK postcode format. Success toast "Your details are saved". Analytics: profile_updated.

Payment methods. Listed from the payments provider vault (tokenised, last four digits and expiry only). Add card uses provider-hosted fields. Cannot remove the only card if a payment is scheduled. Expiring cards (within 30 days) show an amber badge. Billing details used on receipts and invoices; downloads link to receipts for each booking.

Notifications. Matrix of channel by type. Transactional messages (booking, payment, safety) are locked on for email. SMS needs a verified mobile. Unsubscribe links in emails update this table. Defaults: marketing off until opted in at sign up.

Security. Change password (requires current password), optional two-step verification, session list and "log out of all devices". Social sign-in methods connected are displayed and can be unlinked if a password exists.

Data and privacy (UK GDPR). Marketing consent toggle, data export (async job, link by email), links to policy and cookie preferences. Consent changes are logged with timestamps. Required processing is shown as Required, not a toggle.

Delete account. Blocked when upcoming bookings, open disputes or held funds exist, with a list of blockers and links to 24-customer-bookings-list.html. Confirmation modal needs the word DELETE and password. Soft-delete for 30 days then anonymise; financial records kept for legal retention. Confirmation email sent.

Mobile

Tabs become a list of sections that open one at a time. Tables turn into stacked rows with toggles. Save buttons are full width. Delete account sits at the bottom behind a "Danger zone" heading.

States

Loading: skeleton fields. Saving: button spinner and disabled form. Success: toast. Error: inline field errors and a top banner "We could not save your changes. Try again." Card declined on add: provider message shown. No saved cards: "No saved cards. Add one for faster checkout." Teachers have a separate settings page at 57-teacher-settings.html.
